Online Store Diaries: Choosing the Right Products to Sell

Happy Friday Kittens!

I hope y’all are doing well and ready for the weekend! I’ve learned so many things since  starting an online store. I really had no idea  how much work this store would entail. I’ve done a great deal of research before I even launched my store, but nothing prepares you for work that goes in to it.  I read so many stories and I watched so many videos of people that have opened online stores, and been extremely successful. It’s very insightful and inspirational  because it shows it’s entirely possible to have a profitable, prosperous, and popular online store.

I wanted to give the perspective of someone that is in the early stages of their store, so if anyone considering opening their own store can see what goes into it from the very beginning. After you’ve decided to open your store, the second decision and perhaps the hardest decision of all will be choosing the right product or products to sell.  Your product(s)  have  to be something that you can:

  • Market
  • Afford
  • Acquire

The Marketing aspect will also help you to identity your target audience. For example I’m absolutely obsessed with fashion, thus I knew I wanted to target young women.

Affordability is very important because you are an entrepreneur which means majority of the money spent opening your business will come from you. You want to make sure that you don’t overextend yourself in the beginning. It’s ok to start off with a small quantity of products. I began with t-shirts and floral crowns, but as I began to sell more products I incorporated dresses, and rompers.

Lastly, you want to make sure that you can acquire your product because once your items start selling you need to be able to access them again.

These are just a few tips, I plan on posting quite often because I know it’s a difficult process and it’s always nice to know that you are not alone in trying to figure everything out.

I hope y’all enjoyed this post and I hope everyone has a fabulous day!!

An Open Letter to Fall…

Dear Fall,

This is Jennifer, where are you???

August, has come and gone, yet you are nowhere to be found. The days of September in South Carolina are sometimes brutal and unbearable. I have my cute coat that I got on sale last year. I go into my closet and stare at it from time  to time. I stroke it and whisper ” Soon my Love.”

I’m so ready for hats, gloves, sweater dresses, boots, and coats. I need some true Fall fashion in my life and I wouldn’t mind if these leaves fell off the trees too.

Honestly, I’m going a little crazy.  I feel like Andy Dufresne, like a caged bird trapped in a hot and humid cell of  misery. We know that some birds are not meant to be caged!

Seriously Fall, where the heck are you?????

Sincerely, Jennifer

Always Remember to be Kind….

Happy Tuesday Kittens! I hope y’all are having a great week so far!

I just wanted to share something a little personal about me.

Ever since I was little girl my parents always instilled in me to be kind to people. I was taught to treat people with kindness and respect.

My parents taught me how to treat other people, but I learned I had to teach people how to treat me. One of the worst feelings is being kind to someone and not receiving it in return. I used to be a very reactive person, if someone was unkind or rude to me. I made sure to express my displeasure in the loudest, most disruptive way possible. I guess you could say I would go a little crazy.

As I’ve gotten older I’ve realized that being so reactionary is a complete waste of time and energy. I can not control how people treat me, but I can control how I react. I just don’t react anymore, if someone wants to be unkind to you, please don’t go “crazy.” You can simply walk away and focus on all the beautiful things in your life. For example, I have chosen to focus on growing my business, being happy, and loving the people that matter most to me.

You can be kind to people, but sometimes they won’t let you for whatever reason. Don’t  allow their actions to destroy your peace, life is too short.  Just put on your highest heels and walk away.

There are no regrets it’s their loss, not yours! ❤️

Feel free to let me know what you think in the comments section.

Don’t Be Mad, Get Off Your Ass, and Do Something…

Hey Everyone! Since it’s a new year I have decided to embark on a new blogging journey and incorporate other parts to my blog. As much as I love fashion( I truly do) there are so many different parts to me.

My name is Jennifer Amber, I graduated from the  University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s Degree in History.  I am one semester away from a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre, a year from a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism, and last December I graduated with my Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Needless to say, I don’t believe in complacency, I was raised to always strive for excellence and personal growth. I’m always looking for ways to become a better version of myself.
